Sunshine!

After what has felt like months and months of rain, we finally have some sun in London. Last week was the first time in a loooong time there has not been any rain. We definitely made the most of it. Nola and I went to the park every day. On Friday, I met Dates and his coworkers for happy hour after work. We went to a bar called The Tattershall Castle. It's a World War II ship that now sits in the Thames and is used as a bar and restaurant. It was such a nice night to enjoy some drinks outside. On Saturday, we got up early and hopped on a train headed to the beach! We went to a town called Broadstairs, which was about a 2 hour train ride from London. The beach was packed and the weather was perfect. The water was a little too cold for me, but Nola couldn't get enough.

So pretty

Nola kept her eye on the water.

There were tons of sail boats out in the water.

Happiest dog in the world!

This really is Nola's happy place.

When she got tired, Nola would bury her head in the sand to keep cool.

We will definitely be going back!

Coming up next: Dates has a few days off work this coming week for the Queen's Jubilee (She's been in reign for 60 years!!) So we are taking advantage and heading to Greece for 4 days! We are staying at an all inclusive resort on the island of Kos. We can't wait to soak up the sun and enjoy four straight days with 0% rain in the forecast ;)

The Persha's Invade London!

The Persha's came to visit for over a week at the beginning of May. We had such a good time while they were here. We went to Dublin for 3 days, went to the movies, saw Wicked, saw the Snow White ballet, did some shopping in Camden Town, did some shopping at Portobello Market, did some shopping on Oxford Street, went to 'tea with a twist' and spent a lot of time (when it wasn't raining) drinking wine in the park. Oh, and John and Dates were able to go to a Rugby tournament while Britt and I shopped on their last day. It was so nice having them here and we miss them so much already! Here's some pics of their visit...
So happy they're here!

First bar we walked in to in Dublin had live traditional Irish music. We found this to be very common...live music everywhere!

Cheers!

Leprechaun?

The Temple Bar area. We spend a lot of time here...it was like an Irish 6th Street!

We loved Farrington's and they loved Americans.

Our Texas friends who are living in London right now, Grant and Kristin, happened to be in Dublin the same weekend as us! We met up with them for a very fun Saturday night out.

This man was dressed as an Oompa Loompa for no apparent reason.

The boys fit right in when they started arm wrestling the Irish men.

On Sunday, we visited the Guinness Storehouse.

Very true statement

After the tour, you are able to enjoy a free pint at the Gravity Bar-awesome 360 degree views of Dublin.

Back in London! Britt and I went to 'Tea with a Twist' at the Marriott Park Lane. Instead of traditional English tea,  they served us cocktails. Pretty genius idea if you ask me!

They even served the 'tea' in a tea pot and tea cups. So fancy.

We got stuck at Camden Market in the pouring rain. Here is John keeping our purchases dry-while wearing my rain coat.

Thanks John!

And again... this was all his idea, I swear :)

Finally a sunny day-walking in St. James' Park!

John loves Cider!
Loved this highly recommended bar!

The boys went to an all day rugby tournament on the last day. The theme was '70's'. They raided my closet for something to wear and this is what they came up with. Yes, they actually wore this out of the house to an all day sporting event.

While the boys were at rugby, Brittani and I went to Harrods...
And Kensington Palace...

And won 3rd place at Quiz Night at the pub!
Nola enjoyed having her Auntie Britt here!

As you can see, we had the best time! It was a wonderful week!
